CAREER OVERVIEW AND CURRENT POSITION

Since leaving school in 1996, where I was an active junior journalist for a county newsgroup, and was also involved in drama and sport, I have obtained a B.A in English from the University of San Francisco. Between school and college I traveled through Europe, and spent six months in Italy where I studied the Italian masters. During my college years I edited the college magazine which went on wide circulation. I also gained considerable experience in roles demanding liaison with the general public in a variety of part-time jobs from bar work to teaching. I was a member of the college sailing team and latterly skippered one of the senior crews. Since graduating I have been seeking a suitable permanent appointment, undertaking temporary writing appointments in the meantime. I read and speak colloquial French and Italian fluently. I am computer literate and I have a full driving license.

	1995-1997	River County Newsgroup. Worked as a junior reporter for the Kids Section. Started a Kids Political Corner where children wrote in their concerns about political issues. This was so successful that it sometimes escalated into the senior section of the news.
